An Analyst’s Notebook

As an analyst/podcast editor, producer and host I come across an amazing amount of retail data, information and stories. All this information has formed the foundation to what I do as an analyst. I share it in research notes, presentations

Most people know I struggle with writing. I find it a challenge. I’m that odd person that would prefer to give a presentation to a hostile audience then write a note in the safety of my office.

This channel will be rough and real, just like me. I want a fast hitting way to pass along info and recommendations.

Why Substack: quite frankly I love this platform.   I see great value in having a platform where ideas, data can be exchanged in a meaningful fashion. I like the idea that you have to be identified to leave a comment.  Oh I’m fine with disagreement and debate.   As an  analyst I live for it. But the debate needs to be honest, respectable.

What I plan to cover:

  1. Tweet of the Retail Week

  2. Webinars to check out

  3. Press releases of note

  4. Stories worth checking out

  5. Podcast episodes worth checking out

  6. Podcast notes from TWiINN

  7. Podcast notes from ThirdEye

  8. Conference notes

I invite you to subscribe and take advantage of my 9 plus hours a day of retail research.

To request a briefing, point me to a good story, invite my to your conference or offer constructive criticism send a note to jeff_roster@outlook.com
